Tuğba ŞİMŞEK received her BA from the department of English Language and Literature, Hacettepe University. She completed her MA in the same department with her thesis entitled "Transitions in Irishness: Conor McPherson's The Weir and Shining City" in 2016. In this study, Şimşek discusses the evolution of the Irish identity which was traditionally constructed in the early 20th century and started to change into the more modern and inclusive type of identity in the 1990s and in the early 21st century due to socio-cultural, political and economic transformations resulting from the Celtic Tiger economy.  She is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Hacettepe University.
