Master of Arts in Language and Literature aims to train individuals to be qualified in the field of English Literature and Culture on a research-oriented basis.

In this context, our program covers the fields of comparative literature, criticism and literary theories and cultural studies. The program seeks to educate academicians, researchers and experts who can read and interpret literary texts and cultural contexts, know the international literature and research methods, and have knowledge and skills necessary to conduct original research that can contribute to their fields. Therefore, the courses situated in the program are designed to enable students to develop an interdisciplinary perspective through which they can examine different literary genres written in various periods of English literature in a theoretical, social, historical and cultural context and meet the needs of the globalized world.

In addition to academic positions, our graduates can also work in the fields requiring cultural and literary knowledge such as translation, editorship, authorship, tourism, banks, and media. Moreover, they can work in the public and private sectors, more specifically, in foreign relations departments or ministries.
