The faculty and the students of the Department of English Language and Literature, ASBÜ, were privileged to attend a conference entitled "One Day, Seán O'Casey..." organised by the Department of English Language and Literature, Hacettepe University in collaboration with the Embassy of Ireland on 28 November 2019 on Beytepe Campus.

The scholars representing Hacettepe University, Queen's University Belfast, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Üniversity, Doğuş University, and Çankaya University discussed Irish playwright Seán O'Casey and his works from various perspectives. Dr. Michael Pierce, an expert on Seán O'Casey and his works, attended the conference as the keynote speaker. Prof. Dr. Mine Özyurt Kılıç, head of the Department of English Language and Literature, ASBÜ, also attended the conference as a chair.

The occasion provided our students with a rare chance to talk to and exchange ideas with the distinguished scholars during the coffee breaks.
