The faculty and the students of the Department of English Language and Literature, ASBÜ, were privileged to attend a conference entitled “Daniel Defoe and His Work” in the frame of “25th METU British Novelists International Conference” organised by the Department of Foreign Language Education, Middle East Technical University, on 12 December 2019, at METU Culture and Convention Center.

The scholars from different universities such as Bilkent University, Ankara University, Başkent Üniversity, Hacettepe University, Boğaziçi University, etc., discussed British novelist Daniel Defoe and his works from various perspectives. Prof. Dr. John Richette, an expert on Daniel Defoe and his works, attended the conference as the keynote speaker.

The occasion provided an opportunity to our students to exchange views with the distinguished professors during the coffee breaks and, thus, enhance their understanding of the subject.
