Prof. Dr. Mine ÖZYURT KILIÇ, who continued her position as the Chair of the Department of English Language and Literature, Faculty of Foreign Languages of our university, has handed this position to the member of the department, Prof. Dr. Julie Ann AYDINLI. 

We wish Prof. AYDINLI the best of success and luck in her new position.

We wish victims of the recent fire disasters in several cities all around our country to get better soon and not to have any loss of life and property. 

We wish the ones who lost their lives to rest in peace, the injured to recover health, and the ones who lost their homes, properties and nonhuman companions to preserve their patience. We believe our great nation will recover from these disasters soon.

Penn State University Liberal Arts Collective (LAC) member Merve Tabur interviews Dr. Zümre Gizem Yılmaz Karahan. Dr. Yılmaz Karahan discusses her research on written and visual representations of disease and contagion in the writings of the Ottoman traveller Evliya Çelebi (1611-1682) and in the medical illustrations of an Ottoman surgeon, Şerafeddin Sabuncuğlu (1385-1468).
