The undergraduate programme of our department aims to raise individuals who are able to make academic productions by using all their academic skills such as critical thinking, questioning, and research techniques for future graduate studies and by delving into varying cultures and literatures. The programme also enables students to discover their own fields of interest by focusing on both departmental and non-departmental elective courses, and to specialise in these fields.
Departmental elective courses are deliberately diversified in order to allow students to specialise in such disciplines as British Literature, Cultural Studies, Translation and Linguistics. All the content of the department's curriculum is designed and determined to enable these acquisitions to develop. With a student-centered approach, courses make active participation possible at any level. Assessments and evaluations are conducted on the bases of examinations, assignments, in-class participation and extracurricular activities. Students are encouraged to continue their learning process not only in class, but also out of class.
